On the last day Oregon Trail Rally, Rifat strive to widen the distance of time with his nearest rival, David Sterckx. And the SS 15 and SS 16 he managed to increase the distance of time with David as much as 40.6 seconds and it was enough to make him be in the third position.
But on SS 17 and Marshhall Rifat had hit a rock and caused a car tire burst. It does not make a step Rifat stopped, because he still sped up the finish line as far as 5 km. As a result, the record time to reach 8 minutes 0.9 seconds, well below the David who took 7 minutes 32.6 seconds. But because of the time difference the two drivers was 12.3 seconds, Rifat Sungkar was still in third position.
"It is a great pride, not only for me but also for all Indonesian people, because today, we can prove that Indonesia is able to achieve, especially in the world rally in America," said Rifat.
